Suggestions on Hot Compress while away from home.

JJ75 - where'd you get the gel mask? What brand is it? I use a gel pack, which I love, but have never seen a gel mask that I could heat. I found one that I could freeze and that is nice for those times.

Gel Mask

I typically heat it on high for 8 seconds at home and it holds the heat for about 5 minutes then I heat it for 6 seconds it holds heat for 5 minutes and I repeat one last time..

Keep in mind all microwaves are different.. I've learned that the hard way...

What if you just take your gel mask and fill the bathroom sink with hot water, place the gel mask in it to warm it up and then place over eyes?

Ditto here. However, after having 2 of these gelpacks melt/explode, I felt there was no was I could predict whether 30 seconds, 10 seconds were "just right." I just won't use my stuff (plastic) in the microwave anymore.

I did, over the weekend, finally buy some rice and fill two socks with the stuff. I love it. I set the micro on 2 min and no chance of these disappearing!

Doesn't work... The water doesn't get hot enough for the mask to hold the heat. You have to use boiling water.

Warm washcloth?

At home I just run hot tap water over a washcloth. Could you do that in Europe, or is really hot tap water hard to come by there?
