    Contact?

You don't need to melt the "plugs" because the glands aren't really plugged. Yes, the glands are filled with a thick substance, but it comes out just fine on its own, without heating. Just put a contact lense on your eye and you'll see all the plugs express themselves in less than 5 seconds.

Read the guide that I just posted in this forum for more details.
Please explain about the contacts, cold helps me more too, as my eyes and area surrounding them all swollen and puffy, looks like I've been crying for days, funny because crying produces zero tears for me. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm having some allergies to the restasis, or one of it's ingredients.

I posted a detailed and lengthy updated guide on how I have successfully treated my MGD/Blepharitis and Dry eye, but it appears that the moderators deleted it without even bothering to tell me.

Contacts act as a minor eye irritant and they cause your glands to express as much as they can in order to get them out. If you put a contact in your eyelid and your glands express a bunch of foamy stuff, your glands aren't plugged. They're just swolen and filled with a cottage cheese like oil.

Advocate, when you've got a question for a moderator please send it to a moderator rather than posting about it multiple times. I did not see the post/thread you are talking about but I will look into it.

I have also experienced a stronger burning sensation about 30 minutes after doing warm compresses. The first 30 minutes feel good, but after that it gets worse.

Im wondering since warm compresses could potentially irritate the eyes more because of inflammation, would cold compresses stop the opening of the meibomian glands? I want to use cold compresses to tone down the inflammation in my eyes but I don't want to restrict the flow of the oil in the glands. Will cold compresses cause this issue or am I good to go with them?

              Thanks

It's a common question here and understandably. I have never seen any evidence of this in the literature and to date at least am not aware of any specialists with serious concerns about that being a possibility.

Two days ago I tried warm compresses again and they definitely seemed to make the problem worse for the next day. I didn't do warm compresses last night and my eyes were better today. I actually used a cold compress for like 20 minutes last night and my eyes were feeling better today. Contrary to popular belief for me at least warm compresses are doing the opposite job they're supposed to so I'm just going to stick with cold. Seems like more people than myself feel the same way.
