cold compresses

Has anyone had any luck with cold compresses? If so how did you do it please?

I DEPEND on cold compresses. The problem is finding good ones. The ones that worked are Earth Therapeutic gel eye mask that I put in the freezer and that freeze. However, they now make gel beads eye masks that do not freeze and I cannot use. I need ICE. Some items available with ice are too harsh. It is really hard to find the right device.
