  • Normal for warm compresses to be really painful?

    Hey all

Quick question. Warm compresses are normally amazingly good for me but lately last week or so they have started to become really, really painful for my eyes especially when I take off the compress. My eyes become intensely bloodshot and sore for about 10 minutes afterwards. Is this a sign I am overdoing the compresses? Only doing 2 a day for about 5 minutes each. Or is this a normal reaction?

    Thanks

Wow. I've never had that kind of reaction. I dropped the number of compresses down to once a day, though---maybe you should try that. The only thing I experience is that the bag presses down on my lids and sort of "paralyzes" them for a minute after I take off the baggie.

Sounds like the heat is aggravating your eye condition for some reason.

Back in February when I had severe inflammation, my doctor said to go easy with the warm compresses. He said if pain increased, dryness increased, or if redness increased after use to lay off them until I was better.

I also have to be careful not to get them too warm.
