Argh. Maddy I am sorry to hear this. I have been getting IPLs for about 2 years now. I have had 8 so far with very good results. So much so that I am never on here anymore. And I have not had any complications (knock wood). I get my IPLs from Dr Friedman at Stanford who is a very serious corneal spec and I will mention this to him when I go back in (probably in a couple months) to get his take. There is no question that you had a complication and that just blows. I'm sorry.

Indrep mentions retinal damage from "laser" in this thread. IPL is not laser.

I had ıpl an my shoulders for hair removal with unprotective eye glasses (solarium glasses )but I did not know I had floaters and blurriness and dry eyes after session and ıpl is a terrible idea. Even you should not go through this procedure.

        IPL and floaters

I am medical student and I have searched evidence based medicine websites and articles. There is a link between and eye floaters. This is not mentioned because it will bring a big sound and destroy to beauty centers and laser device manufacturers.
        articles about floaters:

Also visit this website especially eye damage part:

        Ocular complication due to IPL:

There is no high quality proof that IPL helps dry eyes. of course Some of der eye patients' symptoms improve but this does not mean that you will get benefit. I have dry eyes BECAUSE OF IPL itself. I have also blurriness and floaters in my eyes. You should think twice pros and cons. God helps all of us.
