  • IPL for $100? Is this normal?

I found a doctor who does IPL in the Chicago area. This doctor is listed on Dr. Toyos' website as one of the doctors he has trained/recommends. I thought IPL was closer to $1,000 now I am reading that it is only $100. Why does this seem too good to be true?

    Does this seem right?

I paid $400 per treatment with Friedman at Stanford (trained/guided by Toyos). I think Toyos charges $350 per treatment. Both of these guys use the Dermamed Quadra Q4 IPL machine.

I'd call the place, ask about what they do (read this before: http://www.eyeworld.org/article.php?sid=2698), ask about their training, who performs the treatment (Dr., RN, or other), ask how many people they've treated for dry eyes, any results, ask what laser/machine is used, etc.
