IPL and Doxy

I have a question to those that have done IPL and taken doxy. Have you done these things simultaneously? I just started IPL and have been prescribed doxy (by another doctor)....my dermatologist said that IPL is a colour seeking laser and not to take doxy while doing undergoing a treatment...curious to know what others have done.

I have been on doxy before but think this time I will try to do the IPL in 2 to 3 week increments and then start doxy again.

From what I’ve read no never use them at the same time, doxy causes the skin to be very sensitive to sunlight and can cause serious problems when combined with ipl. Doxy takes 5 days minimum to leave the system. Stopping and starting is not recommended with doxy and needs to be consistent for results. I’d hold off on doxy until the ipl is finished personally. Doxy takes on average for most people 2 months before results to possibly take place.
