How often do you express your glands? I've read too often can do more harm than good.

How often do you express your glands? I've read too often can do more harm than good.

I don't express my own glands. My doctors don't recommend expression of glands. I used to beg them to express my glands because once when I had an in office gland expression it was amazing, I had relief for about a month, less drops, less chronic pain. I feel like begging at my next appointment this week. Yet, the reason explained to me was it can cause damage, squeeze the little 'tubules' together/shut/block that secrete the oil.
