  • Barlean's EPA/DHA concentrated fish oil capsules

Has anyone tried these?? I was wondering if they cause those nasty fish-burps etc.

I am interested in them because they have a very high amount of omega 3's per 2 capsule serving...

    EPA 783 mg
    DHA 400 mg
    other omega 3's 196 mg

    fish burps

You might want to try Ascenta Health's fish oils. They're located in Nova Scotia and make a fish oil with a lemon flavor. Here's their site: http://www.ascentahealth.com/product...asea-hp-200-ml

They recommended the NutraSea hp for my dry eyes.

I first heard about them when I saw this story on the news: http://www.ascentahealth.com/news/as...-african-rhino

I just figured if the oil could cure a rhino of serious skin problems, then it might help my eyes!!!

    Good luck.

      SAAG,

I use Barlean's Flax Oil (usually sold in the refrigerated section of your nearest health food store) and Carlson's Very Finest Fish oil (sold in vitamin stores). I do the Carlson's in the morning in a glass of OJ (the fish oil is lemon flavored and is easily masked by the OJ) and the Barlean's in the evenings, again in a small shot glass of OJ. Surprisingly, the flax oil tastes the worst! It is not very pleasant.

I also do 3 drops of mycellized vitamin A in my morning "vitamin cocktail."

I think by using the oil you can avoid the gelatin and whatever else they use for the capsule.

I do not get any GI issues from the fish oil or the flax oil. I do have a friend who cannot stand the thought of drinking fish oil so he uses the capsules. He puts the capsules in the freezer and voila, no fish burps! So if you cannot "do" the straight oil, try freezing the capsules instead.
