  • Luck with theratears nutrition omega 3 supplement?

Ive recently tried thera tears nutrition (only about a week ago), and just wanted to know if anyone has had any luck with them. Reviews online seem excellent, as almost every person seems to say that this supplement is a godsend and that it eliminated much of the problem. And I dont mean just a few people have said this, im taking about hundreds of reviews that are nearly all positive. Thera tears also claims that 70% of the people who participated in their study claimed that there dry eye problems were completely gone after the 90 trial ended. Has anybody had such luck, or have they been any help? Im hoping to get back into contact lenses eventually, so hopefully this may help...

    Theratears omega 3

So, I've been taking theraters now for maybe 6 weeks. Started doxy at the same time. I can say I have noticed that oil is now coming out of my skin - and it hasn't done that since high school. It makes me think that oil will eventually come out of my meibomian glands? Not sure. But I don't have any relief right now because I am on other medications that make my eyes very uncomfortable.

Yeah, I think I read the same clinical study from UT Southwestern saying 70% got total relief of symptoms. Also, they said that nothing changed in their mebomian secretions. So, I'm not sure why they got over their issues...

I have been consuming 1 x capsule for 6mths, followed by increasing to 2 x capsules for another 3mths, and finally to 3 x capsules recently, i do notice my face is getting a bit oily 8(

Diagnosed with 'punctate epitheliopathy' when i went for a dry-eye specialists 4 mths ago, he prescribed me with doxy (antibiotics) and asked me to up the Theratears to 2 x capsules, last week went back for followup, he noticed the 'punctate epitheliopathy' has improved, stopped doxy (antibiotics), but increased Theratears to 3 x capsules.

Omega 3s are definitely beneficial - even just for general health. It is good to see that the omega 3 they are using is high quality and free of pcbs etc as well. That is also a big plus. Worth paying the extra few dollars to get the quality stuff. A lot of the cheaper capsules go rancid without you even realising.

With these types of supplements, I think some people are responders and some are not. I took vast quantities of fish oil for at least a year or more. It all depends on where you are in your dry eye journey, i.e. from mild to chronic. Once you have chronic dry eyes, there is only so much fish oil capsules will do for you at this juncture. A bit like putting a petrol additive in your car when the engine is almost kaput

From memory, I had just as much relief from taking 2-3grams of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) a day. That really helped.
