  • Omega3 - TheraTears vs Fortifeye vs EyeScience

    Hi All,

Can i assume when taking Omega3, we should focus on the EPA/DHA?

I compared the 3 different products

    Fortifeye - 540 (EPA) 360 (DHA)
    EyeScience GNC - 500 (EPA) 400 (DHA)
    TheraTears - 450 (EPA) 300 (DHA)

Seems like EyeScience GNC contains more EPA/DHA than TheraTears.

Currently consuming 3 x Theratears capsules in the morning, but did not much differences.

    Cheers

      Hello Nitro & Indrep,

First off, I'd like to give full disclosure. My name is Jeff Northup, President & CEO of EyeScience Labs.

Nitro, thank you for giving our product EyeScience Dry Eye Formula a "thumbs up". It's very appreciated. Not only is our amount/ratio of Omega-3 important but the other ingredient like Vitamin B-6, Magnesium, and Lactoferrin also play an important role.

Indrep, I wanted to reach out to you and share with you that if you review scientific literature in which comparisons between the EE vs. TG omega-3 forms were assessed in terms of bioavailability, safety, or efficacy indicate the differences are very minor, inconsequential, and cannot be judged to be physiologically or clinically significant. Although there are many, one example to support my point is, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1826985. I hope this helps.

      Thanks for reading.

      Best,

      Jeff
