The Effect of Caffeine on Tear Secretion

I have experienced this phenomenon myself. However, unlike the study subjects I have severe dry eye.

Interesting finding. Personally, I've given up coffee because it's dehydrating. But maybe this means I can drink the occasional cup in the morning?
