  • Biotears vs. Dry Eye Relief Tear Stabilization formula

I have been using Biotears since January, along with several other treatments prescribed by my specialist. I am much better. It is time to reorder my Biotears and I see a different product, Dry Eye Relief Tear Stabilization formula, on the web site I order from. I am reluctant to change, as I believe Biotears has helped, but the new product reads to contain some additional suppliments, such as EPA and Alpha linolenic from flaxseed, which I believe are also reported helpful. Can anyone advise? Thanks

    Hi Deb,

Not to complicate your decision further.... however, there is another product called "Moisture Eyes" by Carlson that you can consider.

I used BioTears for couple of years and like you... I think it helps. However, I also take 6grams of fish oil daily too -- and I also take green tea extract, which has been studied to help counter inflammation. Also, in this study they noted that folks in China and Japan -- high green tea consumers -- rarely have dry eye (Sjogrens) issues.

I recently switched to the Moisture Eyes -- I compared ingredient labels with BioTears and saw that they pretty much have the same stuff. Plus, Carlson is a well regarded supplement mfg -- and it's cheaper than BioTears... and available at places like The Vitamin Shoppe.

ANYWAY -- I just thought I'd try the Moisture Eyes and see how it goes. You'll have to let us know if you decide to try another one and if you see any difference.

    Best wishes...
    Jann
