  • Myoplex Shake and Improved Symptom: Attention Doctors

I have been supplementing with NAC (650mg) and MSM (650mg) and lovaza fish oil. I def have MGD but I am not sure if it is caused by inflammation from ocular rosacea or from allergies (yes, i know I have to see an alergit asap)

I have been on quite some path to relief from being misdiagnosed to trying all different medicines (lotemax, azasite, oracea, pataday).

THe other day I had a Myoplex Original, RIch Dark Chocolate Shake since I have been getting back into dieting. My eyes felt very good after the shake and I actually had someone i know very well comment on how white my eyes look. Usually the physical and visual condition of my eyes coincide with bothersome symptoms.

I respectfully request that any and every medical professional that reads this please takes a look at the ingredients below to see if anything jumps out as a possible ingredient that may contribute to improving ocular rosacea/MGD/allergic reaction symptoms.

It may have been a placebo but I had one today a well and feel good. I jut hope it continues. I have not tried any other shake brand (yet.)

    Thanks to everyone in advance.

    Hi Meebo

I'm fairly new to this website and never seem to get responses, but I found your post very fascinating. Where did you purchase the Myoplex product? Do you have to mix it with water? I really need to be on some type of vitamin again but the solid ones seem to dry my eyes out even more.

Just wanted to tell you that it was really well written with detail and I hope you get some responses from doctors.

I also have ocular rosacea and MGD with a Shirmer's of 0 in both eyes. I've never been told what causes my dry eye but I suspect it's the ocular rosacea. It's extremely painful.

    Thanks, Clio

I am not a medical professional - but I thought I'd add my two cents worth since I have been battling the same condition, and have been keeping a daily log of nutritional supplements and my symptoms. One thing I've noticed is that vitamin K seems to be an ingredient that I noticed helps (it has something to do with vein health); also, selenium is required for blepharitis conditions and definitely seems to help. Another thing I have personally noticed, is that liquid supplements seem to be more readily absorbed, so perhaps the nutirents are working better, and become more available to the body.

These shakes are available all over. Many online stores that carry health supplements and GNC and VitaminShoppe carry it as well. The product I use was a ready to drink shake.

Thank you for your kind words about my post. In regard to getting responses, sometimes people dont answer becauese there are threadss on the topic allready so do a search. Other reasons could be because people just havent seen your post, or, they dont know the answer. I wish you the best of luck in your road to relief. If you are close to NYC Dr. Latkany is a dry eye specialist.

Thank you for responding! I forgot to say, "everyone else feel free to post." I def want everyones feedback.

Well, I like the way you think. Many people have linked Vitamin K deficiency with DES and associated problem. I wonder what selenium does; i will do some research. I am sending over the list to my doctor to see if he can connect any dots.

WHen I make progress I will update everyone.

Yes, whey protein i great to supplement for only protein.

THe myoplex shake would be considered a "meal replacement" since it has all the vitamins listed as well a healthy carbs.
