  • Lactoferrin

Does anyone have experience of adding lactoferrin to the diet? There is at least one study showing that the substance Lactoferrin is reduced in patients with dry eyes.

    This study:

    http://abstracts.iovs.org/cgi/conten...ract/46/5/2046

Concludes that: "Lactoferrin supplementation in severe dry eye patients is associated with improvement of dry eye symptoms, tear stability and vital staining scores owing to alterations in the tear film lipid layer. "

Now I just need to find out how to get my hands on some Lactoferrin supplements.

      HydroEye supplement has lactoferrin

Sounds promising .. gawd, I'd try anything to get back to "normal".

And of course, I just bought two bottles of BioTears .. but may try this supplement as well .. can't hurt.

HydroEye supplement says that it raises lactoferrin levels ..

I tried it for a short period between 6/3 2009 - 9/4. I founded it added to a protein supplement called "Fairing Complete Protein 3". I didnt noticed any differents under that short period but at the same time, it was in the beginning of my positive trend that still keeps going in the right direction.
