  • posterior blepharitis and doxycycline use.

Hi folks ive got posterior blepharitis and very dry eyes ive had this for 3 yrs now and am on my 3rd lot of steroid drops for the pain inside eyes.i was prescribed initially doxycycline 1oo mg a day but trouble is it makes me so sick i cant tolerate it.Is it possible to clear this up with the hot compress routine only.am starting to get very worried as the eye pain my left mainly is so intense.im back at eye hospital in 1 month.would eye speciaalist be able to tell if there was anything more painful than blepharitis is going on as pain seems to be in brow bone also and radiating around..any feedback would be helpful.thanks.the steroid drops im on are dexamethasone.soozymoon.

    Hi cherry brandy,
Have you tried doxy drops for your blepharitis? You can get them from Leiter's Pharmacy (google it), and it shouldnt have any systemic effects. I hope that makes a difference!
