I have been on doxi for 4 almost years. Has anyone been on this drug this long? comments? Fears?..Actually afraid to ask. It's the only relief I've known and I prescribed it to myself via my 4th opthomologist!..thanks

Doxycycline

I have taken Doxycycline for years and I give myself a break every few months. To be honest, I am unsure if it is doing my eyes any good or not but it is part of my `armoury' along with the flaxseed etc. I live in the UK and the GP said it is OK to take for long periods but quite supports my view on giving the system a bit of a rest to see what it can do on its own.

I've just started a low dose of Minox (similar to doxy) 50mg for 8 weeks. Will see how i get on with it.

I have heard that taking this for longer than 6 weeks could increase your risk for cancer.
