  • Yellow teeth from Doxycycline

    Hi there:

Went to the eye doctor today. They want to put me on doxycycline. Am afraid to go onto it because I hear that it may make your teeth yellow.

    Has this happened to anyone?

I believe the tooth yellowing occurs only in children whose teeth are still forming.

Magoo is correct. I've been on doxy- or tetra-cycline off and on for years for acne (loooooong ago) and MGD. My teeth are still pearly white, and my skin finally cleared up, too! You'll want to watch out for sunburn, however. The drug does cause skin to be sensitive to the sun.
