Effective life of PF opened vials

Once the vial is open, how many days can you use it? I've used mine for 2-3 days but wondered if I should. I make sure the tip doesn't touch anything.

My pharmacist told me I could prolong open Restasis by putting the capped vial in the refrigerator upright in a pill bottle.
I would think PF drops could be prolonged by this method as well. I've never had any left overs personally over a few hours.
