I-Ease, Anyone hear of this?

Has anyone heard of this or tried it? It seems too promising but considering it's linked to stem cell and stem cell has been shown to be regenerative there may be some truth in it?

Scam alert?

I saw this when I was going through news alerts yesterday but I didn't look closely enough to see what claims they were making for it.

There is no ingredients list on the website, that I could find anyway. One red flag among others. Never buy an OTC drop that does not appear to comply with FDA labeling regulations. This info should be readily available before purchase.

I have emailed them for an ingredients list and will post here whatever I hear back from them.

p.s. About those stem cells... it's a great marketing catchword, but I can't imagine how anything sold over the counter could be related to stem cells. The FDA has a list of what active ingredients you can put in an OTC drop... they haven't changed the list in decades and they are almost all polymers.

Ingredients in I Ease drops

I received this reply to my email asking for the ingredients (the first reply they sent was merely a sales pitch for the 'stem cell' component, I had to ask again for the actual ingredients:

"The reply below is how Dr. Maguire explains the ingredients, but I feel it best if he call you to further explain. The product is made up of SRMs (stem cell released molecules) from two different types of stem cells that replenish the tear film of those with dry eye. These molecules are put in a base of conditioned media carboxymethylcellulose water and benzalkonium chloride."

Thank you, I'm just going to go with my gut and say this is crap preying on people's misery unless they can prove an actual legit response rather than our secret ingredient mixed with these other normal eye drop basis. Like Rebecca said I don't see how a product made from stem cells can be so easily and readily available.

I don't know how to comment on or evaluate this until they produce some study results. But even setting aside the claims and unknown components of this, I think most of us would avoid a BAK-containing OTC drop.

I-Ease and Prose

Darn- when i saw this i too was hoping this was a miracle cure I've been waiting for! If anyone has the nerve to try it, please post so we can know your results.
What is the deal with Prose? I've been reading about that with interest. Has anyone had that procedure?

My mom uses I-Ease

my mother was given a sample by her cornea specialist about a week ago. It has worked great for her. she has been going every week to the doctor about an ulcerated cornea that would not heal partly of severe dry eyes for about 3 months now and after a week on I-Ease we were just told it is healed. We were given them the day we were told go and start the process of getting the blood serum eyedrops and now those are in the freezer for now. we go thursday for a 2 week checkup using the I-Ease if you would like I will tell you how that goes. I am sorry if another post from me shows up but my computer is acting up and did not know if it went through with that posting.

I tried to get more information but all I received was a sample, with no literature or anything. There was no FDA compliant drug labeling on it which is a bit off-putting.

Does anyone have any new information about I-Ease?

I was having trouble with one of my eyes sticking closed at night. My ophthalmologist gave me a sample of I-Ease. Within a few days I was able to sleep through the night and my eye didn't stick anymore at all. Miraculous! I've been using it twice a day ever since.

Now 8 months later my eye is starting to stick at night again. For a medication with as many unknowns as I-Ease, I'm not comfortable using it—since it is no longer working.

I'd be curious to know what their clinical trials and longitudinal studies show, but can't seem to find any information about it. Anyone?

I'm curious myself about this product. Anyone have any other info on this product? It's funny there's not much info on it if it works as well as they say it does. I hate it when companies take advantage of people that are so desperate for a product that works.
