  • I have salty tears and doc recommended Systane Balance and Blink...read on

These drops have preservatives though and I'm wondering why it's ok for me to use preservative drops so many times a day if most docs say not to use drops with them.

This doc seems to know what he's doing, but I'm concerned about this particular issue.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Tiffany

Hi, blink tears also come preservative free. Search 'blink intensive tears preservative free vials'. Haven't seen systane balance without preservatives though

You want preservative-free drops if you're putting them in more than 3-4 times a day. You also want a drop with a low osmolarity (high water to salt ratio) so that it dilutes the salt content in your eye or else the cells in your eye can't heal properly. Osmolarity above 312 is too salty for your eyes.

This link explains Osmolarity a little http://www.theratears.com/how.aspx

Best drops= preservative-free Theratears and Oasis Tears sold at the Dry Eye Shop
