Saline in addition to drops?

I'm a newbie so just asking things right now.

Can I use saline solution in addition to the drops? Not at the same time, but alternate.

I'm kind of freaking out about the cost of things.

With HA/Healon/Sodium hyaluronate/hyaluronan drops a drop of two of saline would be advisable. This molecule holds over 1000 times its weight in water. If your own lacrimal gland is deficient in producing water then this would give the HA something to bind. The more water the thicker the water cushion and more comfortable the eye.

I use saline and drops, lots of drops, lots of different kinds of drops too (20 drops a day)

I got some Unisol and like it alot. So my question is, can I use too much saline? I'm using other drops about 4 or 5 times a day.
