  • FreshKote Drops?

I just picked up a prescription for FreshKote eye drops and am wondering if anyone has used these and what kind of results you had. Is this a drop that needs to be used with regularity before seeing results? My Doc said to use 4x a day but that is not enough to keep me going... So I am using my other drops too.

    Hi, Abbygirl.

Rojzen, an active member a couple of years ago, detailed her experiences with FreshKote, and I found her posts to be very helpful. She's detailed in her descriptions and a fantastic writer:

      Hello....

I have been using Freshkote for about a month now and have to say I am definitely seeing positive results. I used them probably 4 years ago too and remember not liking them for some reason so I was really hesitant to try them again but my newish doctor said he has several patients who have had really great results from using it so I figured it was worth another try. At first I had to supplement with other drops too but now, 3 or 4 times a day with the Freshkote and I'm good! The other day I realized I hadn't put any drops in yet and it was 2:00 in the afternoon. Normally I'd use drops every 2-3 hours all day long. I use an ointment at night (Refresh Soothe-lanolin free). I'm pretty sure I have lagothalmus in addition to MGD, blepharitis, and ocular rosacea. Good luck with them.

They are meant to be the "gold standard" eyedrop and most certainly the testimonies on here speak volume's.
There are some however (me being one of them) that had a very definate worsening of their symptoms which took a long time to resolve, following usage of the drops. I found that I could not keep my eyes open after using them for a few days. The initial stinging is not much to worry about and is not really a reason to be concerned. But severe pain and a worsening of your symptoms over a few days is though. I was really sad that they did not work for me as i did pin my hopes on them. You may and hopefully will be different. Good Luck
