  • TearsAgain liposomal spray

I've only been using this for 2 days, but it has helped already. It contains phospholipids that act in place of normal meibomian lipid secretions... the first product I had heard of or tried like that.

A study (that may be somehow biased for the product...I'm not sure) shows significant objective and subjective improvement for a lot of patients. It clears up a lot of questions I had about how this actually works. (you spray it on closed eyelids, and blinking lets a small amount get onto the tear film)

Thanks Gilligan, hope you get comfortable with that.

Just found a new Moorfields eyedrop formulated to help with lack of lipids, Emustil - anyone tried it? http://www.butterflies-eyecare.co.uk...s-EMUSTIL.html

Thea Pharmaceuticals have got an eyedrop, Thealoz, with a new component trehalose, which is supposed to hold the drop on the surface longer http://www.spectrum-thea.co.uk/theal...in-the-uk.aspx

We haven't tried either yet but I can definitely see the point of a more 'oily' drop than 'salty' (not just sodium). Tears are so complex.

Today I recall reading the ingredient "Trehalose" in a new drop I noticed at the pharmacy. I can't remember the name of it. But I'm taking more notice now!!!

A quick consultation with Professor Google makes me wonder again about what honey actually does.

I picked up some Tears Again a couple of days ago. So far I like it. I'm using it with OcuSoft lid wipes and Systane Ultra drops. I clean the lid with an OcuSoft, spray on the Tears Again, then drop in the Systane Ultra drops. I do this morning and evening, and sometimes during the day I'll just do the spray and drops if I feel like I need a refreshing.

I wish the Tears Again wasn't so expensive at $20 per bottle. Why are all of the eye relief products so damned expensive?
