  • Lacrisert reviews?

    Hi,
As I mentioned in a previous post, I am seeing another dry eye specialist next week. In addition to IPL, I want to discuss Lacrisert with him. After forking over a chunk for Lipiflow - which has helped, but it has not been a miracle cure for sure- I am reluctant to spend more money on IPL unless he is very convincing that it is going to be a huge help. Lacrisert seems like an interesting alternative, but I don't see a great deal about in the forums. Anyone out there care to share their experiences with it? Thanks.

I tried Lacriserts. The first day was like a miracle! I was so happy. The next day, it was horrible. The next day I thought maybe it was just a fluke so I tried it again. It left red marks in the bottom of my eye lids but mostly, it almost felt like my eye was drier. It was again, horrible. I think like everything else, it works great for some, for others it is not the secret fix. I was disappointed but I would definitely say to try it for sure. It didn't do any damage, it just didn't work for me. You can google a coupon, I paid $10 for mine with this coupon. There may be coupons now that are even better, no need to pay full price. I wish you luck, It would be great if it works. The people that it works for are probably no longer on this site.

        Hi Runnergirl,
Just saw your post. Thanks for replying! I just got the Laciserts yesterday. It took several attempts to find a pharmacy that would order them for me. I haven't tried them yet, but will do so soon. Thanks for talking about your experience with them.

Well, I tried the Lacriserts. My eyes felt pretty good for the first two hours, then I had a lot of burning. I may give them another shot, but I have a feeling they are not for me. I did find them pretty easy to insert and I could not tell (until my eyes started burning) that I had anything in them.

I never experienced the burning. But, because I had a box of them, I didn't want to waste them, so every couple months I would give it a go ahead again. but It just didn't work for me. too bad because what a nice easy fix if they did work right? lol

Indeed! It's a good concept and I'm glad they help so many individuals with Sjogrens.

I love lacrisert and it has changed my life. I have Bell's Palsy and don't blink all the way. I love that it lasts 24 hours and i can live my life without needing to put drops or ointment in constantly. It made my eye feel like normal again. It takes a few days to get used to it. I never felt the insert in my eye when it was inserted deep enough. Insertion takes some practice.
