FYI - Allergan has another tear on the market called Optive. It's carbomethylcellulose and glycerin, preserved with Purite (used in other Allergan products). Haven't seen any fanfare and it's a moderately priced one. Just noting it for the perennial new product triers, since it slipped in rather quietly. I'm not sure whether it's new or a repackaging of something acquired.

Its much better than RefreshTears
I am using Optive currently & for me its a Miracle ear Teardrop. Its a little thicker than Refresh Tears feels more Oily, probably because of the glycerine.
Its a great product, it working wonderfully for me Lasts longer,No Residue (despite thicker viscosity),Eyes appear a lot moist. Very glad that my doc. changed my prescription from RefreshTears to Optive.
Its strange why allergan didnot create much advertising for this product. Also they should have come out with a preservative free version, not sure how eye-friendly Purite(the preservative) really is..
So if anyone unhappy with their current tear drops should definitely try this out.

I have also been using Optive. It seems to work well for me. I've been using Systane and I like Optive a little better althought it doesn't solve my problem completely.

I've been using Optive for about 10 days. Eyes seem slightly better. (Dx with evaporative dry eye) also using restasis (1 month now) so maybe thats lessened my need for drops. My eyes still dry out esp. if I stare at computer for too long. I'm a little concerned that Optive is not preservative free.

Rebecca:
...in the Monday Dry Eye Bulletin you mentioned something about Soothe in an unpreserved unit dose. When I google it, I can only find Soothe with preservative. Did I misunderstand something? My eyes are sensitive to preservatives, so I am always looking for preservative free options.
I would also like to say that I really appreciate the Monday Dry Eye Bulltin (it's a very good thing to get updated regularly on progress in dry eye treatment, etc.)!
Greetings from Toril

The original Soothe emollient (preserved in a 15mL bottle) is now called Soothe XP.
A different product (glycerin & propylene glycol) is now being sold as "Soothe lubricant eyedrops" in unpreserved unit dose.
(new) Soothe
(old Soothe, new name) Soothe XP
Glad you like the BulletinsRebecca Petris
