Coverage for eye drops

Hi everyone How do you get around the cost of all these OTC drops.?We are spending a small fortune and was wondering if there is a way to get any part of it covered?

Hi Laura,

We have a supplemental medical savings account [flex plan] that covers our co-payments and deductibles as well as some over-the-counter medications that our insurance doesn't cover. I submit the receipts for over-the-counter eye drops and they do reimburse me for the full amount. It's not the same as your insurance paying, but since it is pre-tax dollars, you do save some money by not having to pay income taxes on that amount.

Check with your employer's human resources department to see if your company has a plan like this.
