  • Anyone have sensitivity to glycerine in eye drops?

I am still trying to find an eye drop that doesn't cause me irritation -- either OTC or compounded). I used to have many allergies, and received shots. But, they could not contain glycerine because my arm would swell. I notice that many eye drops contain glycerine, and I'm starting to wonder if that could be the culprit. Has anyone else had a known sensitivity to glycerine in eye drops? I know it can cause contact dermatitis, so it seems logical it can cause irritation of the eye.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    glycerin

I recently tried "sooth" eyedrops with glycerin, and they really irritated my eyes. So, I don't know if it's the glycerin, but if you say this can cause skin irritation, then it stands to reason that it could cause eye irritation.
