  • I'm confused is NutraTear equivalent to Freshkote ?

Commercially available only recently, now there is one artificial tear formulation on the market, called NutraTear® (later re-named FreshKote™ ) that contains vitamin B12.
taken from Dr. Holly's website http://http://www.dry-eye-institute.org/vitapo.html

I might be wrong, after reading a little bit about Freshkote it seems to me that what diffrentiate it from the other Dr. Holly drops is that it contains Amisol Clear (lipid-containing ingredient) which stabilizes the tear film and delays tear evaporation.

I guess this is more of a question to Rebecca or Dr. Holly

This confused me, too. I think the quote from Dr. Holly's site on the product names is not up to date.

NutraTear has the red vitamin B12.

FreshKote is the Dwelle formula, plus the lipid Amisol clear.

That's my understanding of it so far---correction, Rebecca?

Correct. Also answered recently at this thread.

I think there was a typo on Dr. Holly's page because two products were renamed.

NutraTear was renamed Redkote for a period of time - around 2000 to 2004 I think. I reverted to the NutraTear name when I took the drops over in 2005.

APL-105 was renamed FreshKote when first commercialized.

        thank you-now it's clear

Due to the increase popularity of Dr. Holly's magical drops if I may say, and the confusion and lack of knowledge among some patients and professionals (including myself), I have decided to organize and summarize the relevant information about those drops for purpose of education and the benefits of us all and new potentail users of those drops.

For this purpose I started a new thread containing the different feature of each drop from one anoather, and the uniqueness of Dr. Holly's drop compare with other products in the marketplace.http://http://www.dryeyezone.com/tal...ead.php?t=6274

Feel free to contribute to this project, learn more about those drops and start reaping the benefit from using it !
