  • Red Eyes?

I have no itch and i am too young to have dry eyes. However, it could be caused by using the red out drops for a while. I am very healthy and eyes seem to be healthy from all the docs. However, when i workout or lift weights, my eyes go red and burn a little.? WHy is this?

have all dry eye tests done

The same thing happened to me this summer. I was 32 (too young I thought for dry eyes) I watched the vessels in my eye to pump-up over the course of the summer. They didn't bother me at all and didn't feel dry. I went to 3 eye doctors, one said allergies, second said they looked great and the vessels had to do with the sun, and the third said episcleritis. Funny thing is that none of them tested me for dry eye and said the vessels looked mostly "normal." They all even said as much to the fact that I would be a good candidate for lasik.

When i finally went to doctor #4, in Philadelphia, they looked at my eyes and diagnosed me with ocular rosacea... btw, I didn't have any facial syptoms. My tear levels were a 3 and a 5. My break up time was 4. I had corneal staining.
Its funny, only now in November am I really starting to feel the pain.

please make sure they do the dry eye tests and make sure you don't have ocular rosacea. I hope you don't.

    Good luck.

Stop using those "red out" drops, they can cause dry eye if you use them more than a couple of times per month....if you google this you will get more info. Us pres. free drops instead,

There are many young people on this site with dry eye, it isn't choosy when it comes to age.

A reaction to alcohol and sore eyes when you get flushed sounds like it could be ocular rosacea, but you would have to get this checked out.

Just so you know alot of people on this site see many eye specialists before they find on that helps.

Try using Natures Tears EyeMist. It is all natural and doesn't have any preservatives so it won't dry your eyes out. It is a mist so the fine spray actually penetrates into the eye and relieves redness. And it is very refreshing I know you can buy it on amazon and ebay. and directly from the natures tears website

          OTC drops

Yes the OTC drops caused my dry eye - I never had lasik or any of the other issues on this forum - just everyday - 3 times a day - 7 days a week of Clear eyes for many years - until eventually my eyes hurt - they were dry - now I have lower plugs and use blink tears
