  • Night Drop

So winter has hit and nights are once again super painful. Dwelle and nutratear just don't cut it what is a good night drop to use? Something that isn't so sticky it makes my eyes shut but also won't plug my glands would be nice....In the daytime it is nutratear only for me my fave drop by far and I'll do a drop of dwelle or dakrina right before I take a shower so for now I just need a good night drop....the eye goggles don't really seem to help with or without drops still super dry and painful when i wake up.

I know that I'm not in the majority of posters here in this preference, but I wonder if you might give TheraTears Liquid Gel a try.

I love, love, love, NutraTear by day.
And I usually use Dakrina at night.

But when I couldn't restock my Dakrina, I stumbled upon TheraTears Liquid Gel, an "eye lubricant" product, preservative-free in foil pouches
("Active Ingredient: Sodium Carboxy-methylcellulose 1%") and found that it was soothing but not goopy.

Of course our diagnoses and physiologies differ, and the fact is that my dry eye problems would be defined as moderate (not to mention currently under control)
-- but that's my experience, for what it is worth.

    Good luck, GLS!

I have used 2 type suitable for bedtime
      Viscotears & Genteal Gel

      Both made by "Novarties"
Genteal gel is thicker but it is more expersive as 3.5g each tube, viscotears is 10g.

When the first few days of winter wind coming and changing cold, it is the most dry time. Nothing can stand for 8 hours of sleep at this time

May be need to practice "Auto wake up" at midnight adding some eye drops then sleep again ^^

I use the GenTeal Severe Eye Gel. If I wake during the night, I usually apply it a second time.
Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.

          Dry eye at night

My standard procedure is GenTeal gel just before going to sleep and I keep a bottle of Dwelle next to the bed if I wake up and need an extra moisture boost. Then first thing in the morning, I use the new Systane Ultra drops, which I have found to be superior to the old Systane drops. Those keep me quite comfortable throughout the day. This system has worked really well for me.
