cautery as an out patient procedure

i was reading some posts on here and they talk about going under anesthesia for cautery? i thought cautery was usually done in the opthamologist office and didn't take too long?? anyone have experience with it?? i am considering it and am in need of advise.. thanks so much!!!

Thank you very much.... I am definitely callingmy doctor tomorrow to discuss this... I am sick and tired of plugs falling out all the time and the $ to replace them. I guess I will have to ask if my insurance has to be pre-approved for it as well...
