  • Cautery Reversal

Hey guys I had my lower ducts cauterized by an opthalmologist about 6 months ago because he said that I wasn't producing enough tears.

I've seen two other opthalmologists since who say that I have posterior blepharitis and ocular rosacea, and that cautery was not a good choice for me. It's not that I'm producing enough tears, it's that my tears are not good quality. Also, the cautery keeps imflammatory agents on the eye surface longer which is why I think my eyes have been a lot redder/burning. But strangely, my eyes do not water excessively - I don't have tears that run down my face.

Does anyone know if cautery is reversible with surgery at all?

    reversible?

Well my eye doc said yes and no...They do have a procedure...but it rarely works... I also have both of mine cauterized and have sjorgrens and occular rosacea. I havent has any infections of the sort..still just a little dry eye....but then I am on long term 100 mg doxy so maybe that is why??
