help re plugs

I have silicone ( lower) plugs inserted ,size 0.4mm.The left plug fell out.
my eye doctor replaced the plug with a 0.6mm one.This is causing me
discomfort.My question is what can i do? Can the plug be taken out and
replaced with another size.
Would appreciate any advice.

How long has it been since the new one was placed? Sometimes initial discomfort subsides after a few days.
