Hi guys,
About 2 months ago I had temporary (collagen) punctal plugs put in both eyes to alleviate my lasik induced dry eye. I definitely noticed an improvement in terms of dryness, but also experienced awful seasonal eye allergies (extremely itchy/red eyes). The eye doc warned me that by plugging up my eyes, any allergens that get in my eyes cannot drain like they usually do. I couldn't wait for the plugs to disintegrate so my allergies would go away.
Sure enough, 2 months later, the allergies are gone but the dry eye is back now that the plugs are gone.
My goal is to find an allergy medication in drop or oral form that can allow me to get permanent plugs without bringing back my horrendous eye allergies. The doc prescribed me lastacaft for this purpose, but it didn't help at all. Any suggestions? Allergy meds like zyrtec do the trick but dry out the eyes even worse.
Thanks,
Jesse
