It was the trauma of having a laser inserted into the duct and burned. That's what cautery is basically burning the tissue with laser which causes the scarring that seals the duct. The trauma was immediately noticeable. I didn't feel anything as I was frozen but sure was shocked when I looked in the mirror. I marshaled on with life because those inconveniences don't hold me back if I can help it. Like I said it wasn't particularly painful, just UGLY!
