No not the serum drops Faith, just the artificial tears. A bit of it seeps onto the lid at times and I wipe it off and at first I was blaming the salt off of my fingers for making the lid sore so I would make sure I daubed with a kleenex. Then I had an epifani and stopped the drops and bingo it cleared up. 3 days and I am still OK plus today I had less burning of my eyes in general.

I am really struggling with the fans and the dry air right now plus the bright light. OK so I am in Panama and the humidity is 80% but for me anything below 85% is dry and I am really comfortable at 90%+. I know all of you out there with your 35% humidity are going to think I am crazy especially you Saag but it is the honest truth....F/G

Farmgirl: it's funny because I recently bought systane ultra and ever since have had lid inflammation. I stopped using it and weirdly actually think my lids look better. I decided to start using Restasis again as the serum is not enough to keep the inflammation under control, not yet anyway! The Restasis doesn't hurt as much when used with the serum which is nice. (Also using Lotemax once a day for the next few weeks to help with the Restasis) What artificial tears were you using that made you flare?! Also, I agree with the humidity the higher the better!!

Nope, I don't think you're crazy at all - I'd be in heaven at 90%+ humidity! Hopefully some day...

Doesn't surprise me Faith. That's exactly what I discovered and I hope it solves your problem, keep me posted. What I have been using here is a type that I buy in Panama and it was my all time favorite. It is called Lagricel but I haven't seen it anywhere outside of SA. RecentlyI made up a bit of saline which just consists of a bit of sterile dilute salt. I sneak a drop of that in occasionally now so that I don't overuse the systane as the only thing I can get here are the preserved drops. I still sneak in a drop of Lagricel once a day as well and make sure it doesn't get on the lid or if it does I wash it off. I am going to be happy to get back to Canada so that I have more choices. Hopefully I can last 2 months with what I have....F/G

thanks a lot for the advice, I would never have guessed that could be the problem. I hope I'm not speaking to soon but they haven't been inflamed for two days now since I quit systane. When you get back to Canada you should try Blink..my soc recommended it, and I like it but only comes with preservatives so I also use Refresh PF. I think Restasis also helps with the Blepharitis as a more off label use, used with serum it's a lot more tolerable. As long as my lids aren't inflamed my eyes r tolerable, still not where I want them yet but I am getting silicone plugs soon (have been on back order for two months now) and have only been on serum just over a week now so hopefully in a few months ill be better.

So happy that you are doing better...my fingers are crossed for you. Seems likely that contact dermatitis was the culprit thought given you have improved since quitting the Systane. I'm also happy that you are doing well with the serum. Will try Blink when I get back. Hope the plugs help as well, sounds like you are getting somewhere...cheers. F/G

I am still getting the lid inflammation in the right eye only at night but its not as bad anymore.. Ugh anyone have any tips for helping with the night dryness? During the day I can go like three hours without a drop, then after like six pm I'm dropping every hour!

I was that way until I got the plugs both upper and lowers and then bingo suddenly I was WAY more comfortable at PM. Hopefully you get them soon. I still don't have a solution for nightime (sleep) dryness as I can't use gentel gel and so far I just add drops everytime I wake up but they really dry out during the night even with my oniyx goggles which leave my eyelids moist but the eyes dry...sigh. Any suggestions are welcome by me also...F/G

I cannot wait to get my plugs, my corneal specialist wants me to get the silicone ones and my other doc here has ordered them but they are on back order still... They said middle of Feb. There is really nothing much else I can try, I wanted to try aaa site but its not approved in Canada and my doc said its not a long term option anyway.. I want to get my eyes under control with things I can use forever if needed. I feel like when I use Steriods n my eys get better its just a tease because once I stop the inflammation always comes back. My doctor said I can use Lotemax two to three times per week still as needed. I just long for the day I won't have to!!

Hello, what is "Seabuckthorn oil?" I'm desperate for anything that I can use alongside my serum tears. Thanks

Look it up on Amazon. Made by a company called SIBU.

I'm sure it was supposed to be Azasite instead of aaa site.

I used Azasite with very little success. But then again, we are all different. Good luck. ~Gerri
