Plugs

Is it possible to have an intolerance or develop an intolerance for silicone plugs? Does anyone else have this problem or know of anyone with this problem?

I have just had my bottom punctal plugs replaced and although my eyes were dry without them, since i had the plugs replaced my eyes seem to be more sore, hot and still dry.

Any advice, info gratefully received.
