Punctal plug question

This may be a dumb question but my doctor inserted plugs and never explained to me. I am wondering if a plug can be dislodged during eyelid massages/makeup removal and if so would it just fall out or could it move around in your eye?

They are not easy to dislodge but I have had one that came out twice which is usually an indication that it was not fitted properly.

Ok. I was just wondering because I have been doing much better with my dry eye and now something is driving me crazy feeling like it is lodged in my right upper eyelid. But of course that could just be more dry eye. Ugh.
