  • tear overflow?

    Hi!

I've had my upper plugs closed yesterday. i have 4 plugs now.
    since yesterday i experience overflow.
But: It's not that bad. How can I distinguish overflow from reflex tearing?
I dont feel a burning like someone else described it here in this forum....
So if it is just overflow I could try flowcontroller plugs...?

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Reflex tearing with plugs is like reflex tearing without plugs. It usually is not comfortable sloshing. My reflex tearing stings, it feels like salt water. It is intermittent and happens most often when I am in the wind, or staring at the computer for long periods of time. Reflex tears feel like crying tears, and my eyes feel drier after the tearing is done than before it started. I still had one plug removed because of it. No matter if it is reflex tearing or not, with all fours plugged there is no place for those tears to go except down ones face! I am not a doctor so I cannot comment on the flow controller plugs. I would suggest that you ask your doc to do a flouresceine test to confirm whether this is reflex tearing or not. Reflex tearing can be brought on by plug irritation and might be resolved by plug repositioning. There are other causes too. I would not rush into plug removal until you know the cause of the tearing and the treatment options.

You might want to give it 7-10 days. Sometimes the excess tearing resolves.

Your reflex/crying tears have a higher concentration of salt and typically cause a burning sensation.
