  • Can an eye doc tell if your upper plugs are still in?

Hi there....just a question, I seemed to find general relief when I received lower plugs a few years ago. I then got a bit "picky" and thought that I would be even better with uppers too. At that point I was overflowing and irritated and they irrigated the lower plugs out. Since then I have not found relief in anything.

I am going to a new doc tomorrow and am wondering, can he tell if the uppers are in? And, if they are, can they be irrigated out? I would like to try just the lowers again.....

uggh! this is all so confusing.

thank you in advance for any help!

They tell the same way with the uppers that they do with the lowers. Yes, they can be irrigated out if they are the intracanalicular type. The surface type are simply removed without irrigation. I had one upper intracanalicular removed with irrigation.
