  • Port Plug by Alcon (in the Pipeline To be Approved)

I would recommend this plug by far above any I've tried. The silicone was agony, the Smart Plug only slightly helped. The Port was as if they were cauterized closed yet they were able to remove them. You don't feel them. You don't see them unless the doctor uses translumination. I will say I've had one lower duct cauterized and I water more after the cautery than with the Port Plug but my eyes feel good with both. As good as they can feel.

Thank you very much for your input. May I ask how this plug is removed?

It's removed by gentle warming the tissue around the punctum. I believe at the time it will dissolve throught he nasal passage or be able to gentle pull it out. This plug will dissolve if you run a temperature 104 degrees or above and oil. Ladies using cleansing cream may see theirs dissolve faster depending on the type of oil. Mine has deteriorated but they were in for over two years. I would not hesitate to try them again. They are as close to cauterization you can get yet able to remove them.
