Aaron it took about 1 month to feel better, then 3 months to make a difference. At 6 months I backed off to 1 drop per day. I do not know if I was as bad off as you and my condition was not chronic so my experience is not normal. But Restasis burns until a certain amount of healing takes place then it feels better. And it does not work for everyone but you need to give it time at least 6 months

I agree with Keymaker. It burns because of the present inflammation. Once this is under control, it does not burn any more.

I do not have a problem with MGD but my doc (a great help unlike some I read of here) told me Restasis does seem to help inflamation in MG's. I have a TBUT of 15 in each eye but 2 optamologists said my tear production was low (6 lft, 7 rgt) but that most PRK dryness resolves between 6 months-5 years. I did not know this until afterward.

When I started Restasis in May I used 1 drop 2x day each eye. I also used artificial tears every 3 hours. I took 3 Theratears Nutrition per day, 2k mg vitamin C, 300 mg NAC. At 3 months stopped all but Restasis, then last month doc said cut to 1 drop per day. So far I feel 95% most of the time and seems to be slowly getting better. But it also could get worse I guess.
