  • Countries where Restasis is available

Hey guys just out of interest, what countries are the lucky ones where Restasis is available?

I kno its not available in australia... : (

Its available in US and canada right?

    What about european countries? ...Asia?

    thanks in advance!

As far as I am aware, Restasis isn't yet generally available in the UK.

Last year, my consultant prescribed it on a one off or `special' basis but it was going to be ridiculously expensive.

I have known people get it online - but you would still need a prescription.

If it is not available where you live, maybe there is a specialty compounding pharmacy that could make cyclo drops for you?

Just be careful with the on-line pharmacies... although many are reputable, there are also a lot of others that are shady.

There have been many incidents of on-line pharmacies being exposed for doing all kinds of dishonest stuff - the websites will look perfectly legit, so you can't tell the difference based on that.

It's a shame really... on-line pharmacies have such potential and can be a great resource, but it's hard sometimes to tell the difference between the good ones and the bad.

Unless you know for sure that an on-line pharmacy is legit, my first choice would be a local compounding pharmacy. You may have to call around a bit, but eventually you're bound to find a pharmacy that can at least refer you to a specialty compounding pharmacy.

              Hi there!

You can get Restasis at the eye hopsital Quinze-Vingt in Paris. They also make compounded cyclosporine drops. Anyway, since you live in Australia I guess that won't be of much help...!

                lauren:

you can get it in australia, with special permission.

i went through dr colin chan (specialises in dry-eye) @ 'vision eye institute' (chatswood, sydney) who was the student of professor minas coroneo (extremely busy practice at randwick behind UNSW). chan referred me to coroneo who was very happy to help (while i'm at it, he has *the* nicest secretary haha. you get to know who has typical *****y ones and who has nice ones ).

downside though, it's ridiculously expensive. i had to order a six-month supply, imported from the U.S. and i think it was something like $700.

all that said too, i found it made things worse for me. but - i hear a lot of people do well on it so i wouldn't turn it down if i were you.

Thanks for the info, do you know if they provide "Restasis" or a generic Cyclosporine (prepared by the hospital pharmacy) ?
