How safe is it to use restasis on long term basis

Hi All
I had severe eye inflammation with bad itching/dry eyes after lasik. I used restasis for 1 year and I could see the magic happening. My tear production went from 10 mm to 35 mm within 7 months and my eyes were so much better . I stopped restasis and after 6 months the inflammation and itching started again.


So the question is how safe is it to use restasis on long term basis (may be whole life if needed).

I've been using restasis for 7 years now 2X/day. I see a corneal specialist 1X/year and haven't experienced any ill effects....so far. I have to admit I do have concerns myself on this subject.
