  • Similasan Irritated Eye Relief

I wanted to know if anyone uses this or have used it.
and if so, has it helped with irritated eyes and is it SAFE??

Im on restasis and preservative tears right now....and like i said in many posts before, its not really dryness that is my problem, its the redness and inflammation.

I don't want to my my eyes worse, but if all my eyes are is just irriated, maybe it would work.

Thoughts about this would be awesome!

Since you are on Restasis, it would be a good idea to ask your eye dr about the drops. Since Restasis is so expensive, you don't want to mess up any results you may have by using drops your dr may not approve of. It also may have some preservatives that could prove very irritating to your eyes. (I did not look up the site.) To be sure, please ask your doc. Lucy

Dear Vivian: I have used Similisan Dry Eye Relief and it has helped me with dry eye symptoms. When I
first put the drops in my eyes feel really great, but after about an hour, I have a 10-15 minute period when my eyes felt
like they did before I put the drops in. But after that 10-15 minutes they feel good again for a couple of hours. I cannot
      account for this phenomenon.

The Dry Eye Relief and Irritated Eye Relief both contain silver sulfate as a
preservative (it retards bacterial and fungal growth), which I have not
investigated for safety, but it didn't seem to cause me any ill effects. The drops did not sting or otherwise irritate my eyes.
Note that once you open the bottle, you have one month to use the contents, according to the manufacturer.

Note also that I HAVE NOT TRIED the Irritated Eye Relief, which is what I think you are asking about. Both kinds of drops
contain Belladona and Euphrasia, but the Dry Eye Relief that I use contains mercuric chloride while the Irritated Eye
Relief contains calcium sulfide (according to the ingredients list of the items). As Lucy says, I wouldn't
combine them with Restasis without checking with your doctor.
