Does Restasis increase tear production?

My eye dr said Restasis actually increases tear secretion from the meibomian gland. Is this true? I thought Restasis just quelled whatever inflammation preventing a normal tear secretion. I don't have any inflammation or infection so was wondering if Restasis would do anything for me. My dr thinks it will. Thanks for any info.

hi, Ive been using Restasis since a week. It increases my tear product.
I've heard that it burns and eyes will be very red after using it. In the beginning I didnt think it would work on me, because I suffer from infection a lot and I have red eyes often. Its quite possible that I cant stand it.
But it works a little bit till now. I feel my eyes are moister, though the redness is still there.
I think you really should try it.
