My doctor is at the American Academy conference at the moment so will need to wait until he is back. My MG's weren't too bad before I went on it, it was mainly for the anti-inflammatory effect.

I'm hoping I can use the weaker cyclosporine drop when it arrives as AD seems to be my main issue now. Not that I can get any consensus on that!

A bit off topic here but my hair has started falling out a lot and has become brittle. Not sure if it's stress related or down to my thyroid that I need checking again in a week or so. I take a good multivitamin and my diet is good so I don't think it's a lack of nutrients. Would love to feel healthy again!

Hair that is falling out and brittle is a classic hypothyroid symptom. Could be something else...

        Hi lizlou29,

When you say Azasite, do you actually mean Azyter? I would love it if you did mean Azasite and if it was available in the UK, but as far as I was aware it isn't, only the stronger preparation of Azyter, which I've never been able to tolerate either.

Cyclosporine I did get used to, but it never really did anything for me (I have MGD, dry eyes and permanent swollen lower eyelids)

I don't recall that I was prescribed them at the same time

Sorry redandunhappy, yes I meant Azyter, I should have said Azithromycin. I was told it was very similar to Azasite, I didn't know Azyter was stronger, that makes sense then as it really burns my eyes. I've tried rubbing it into the lid margins rather than dropping it directly in the eye but it doesn't make too much difference.

Do you use the 2% cyclosporine? Optimmune? What has helped you the most? Sorry if you have already said all this.

i have never used Azasite, but have a sort of canadian version of it. It does help kind of, its not a steroid but will help get rid of the bacteria! Have you not gotten the script for the lower cyclosporine? I have had 1 percent before and couldnt handle it..

P.S. the antibiotic ointment i have doesnt really burn to bad..hopefully azasite wont either? Sometimes when the eye is extra sensitive (there is a medical term for this, i dont remember it though!) it is hard to put anything prescription in it
Interested in what the Canadian version of Azasite is...thanks

I was mistaken.. What I have isn't "the Canadian version" I'm sorry if this caused confusion. Azasite has been approved by health canada, but no drug companies have wanted to sell it. You can access it through your doctor. He has to contact health canada or something lol

Sorry max! I shouldn't of wrote that...
