Does everyone Know what Restasis is? The pharmaceutical industry using there deep deep pockets and tremendous marketing savy, are taking advantage of people who are suffering and will pay almost anything for relief. Restasis is Cyclosporine,a drug made for treating organ transplant rejection. Cyclosporine has been around a long time but the Pharmaceutical company's are marketing it as some magical cure for dry eye. How the heck is a drug for treating organ rejection going to help your eye's produce more tears? I can go along with the possible anti-inflammatory claim, but producing tear production. I really don't think so.

All I know is that I see a noticeable difference. It reduces my inflammation and helps my eyes do their thing.

More tears? Who knows. But does it help? You bet, at least in my case. Without it, I'm not sure I could function.

While it works for some, like Marty, for me, the side effects were not worth the trouble. Eyes on fire, every single time the drops were instilled, for well over two months. Just couldn't take it anymore.

My doctor said his experience has been "a third, a third, a third." Meaning about 1/3 of patients can't use it because it burns too much, 1/3 can use it but it doesn't help, and about 1/3 use it with beneficial results. I'm in the middle group which is fun because I keep paying for the stuff for some dumb reason even though it doesn't seem to be helping.
