Too dry to work

Hi All:

I was recently put back on restasis by my new MD. My old MD stopped it a yr ago after being on it for several months without affect. In hindsight I was able to cry while on restasis and now I can't. I am scared that my lacrimal glands have sustained too much damage to work. I know no one can say for certain what the case will be but anyone who couldn't cry be able to cry on restasis?

I took the Restasis and quit, thinking that it wasn't working. I then saw a decline in my vision and comfort level. I think the effect of Restasis is so gradual, that it may seem that nothing has changed when it is actually of great benefit. I recently got back on it. I have aquaeous defieciency and poor tear film quality. If you feel in hindsight that it was helping, then go back on it! I stretch one vial over 2 days (per advice of my doctor) so that makes the cost much less of an issue for me. I'm not sure if this at all answers your question or gives you any comfort, but give it time to work and don't give up too soon on it.
